On September 13, 2024, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Marc Miller, announced the issuance of 1,000 invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada under the Express Entry system, specifically targeting individuals with French language proficiency. Candidates were required to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 446, with invitations extended to those ranked 1,000 and above. The tie-breaking rule was based on submission dates prior to August 28, 2024. This initiative aims to enhance economic growth through Francophone immigration outside Quebec, and is part of ongoing efforts to foster a diverse and skilled workforce in Canada. For eligible foreign nationals, language test results must be less than two years old, assessed at a minimum level of 7 across all skill areas under Canadian Language Benchmarks. Located in Toronto, Ontario, my team and I at JCA LAW OFFICE can appreciate that many clients do not interact with the law on a regular basis. Procedures, documents, and legal strategies may seem intimidating. Our team sees different types of cases every day, thus, we understand how complicated the legal system may seem, especially to newcomers to Canada.
