Josef-Jake Camacho Aguilar

Jake, also known as Josef-Jake Camacho Aguilar, is a general practice Filipino-Canadian lawyer and the founder and CEO of JCA Law Office Professional Corporation. He started his career as a stock trader in the Philippines after becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and subsequently pursued a career in law, passing the 2005 Bar exams and being admitted to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 2006. After serving as a civil servant for 12 years and practicing corporate law, Jake migrated to Toronto, Ontario in 2012 with his family. He completed the Internationally Trained Lawyers Program (ITLP) at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, and became a Barrister, Solicitor & Notary Public for the Province of Ontario in January 2016. In 2020, he was also called to the bar in the province of British Columbia.

Jake’s legal practice includes immigration, family, real estate, wills & estates, corporate, civil, and criminal law, and he infuses his work with a touch of Filipino hospitality, committed to resolving clients’ legal matters while making them feel welcome in his office and providing a positive experience for all. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Toronto, CFA Institute (Virginia, USA), and Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and is a graduate of San Beda College and Philippine Law School. Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, going on road trips, cooking on weekends, and participating in Toronto’s annual Ride for the Heart cycling event.

Wayne Leigh Ganapin

​Wayne Leigh Gorospe Ganapin is a Junior Lawyer at JCA Law Office. Prior to joining the firm as an articling student in 2021, she worked as an administrative assistant in another law office in Midtown Toronto, where she gained years of exposure and experience in client intake and management.

She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Management from the University of Sto. Tomas, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2013 and subsequently, her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo De Manila University likewise finishing with Honors in 2017. She took the Philippine Bar Exams that same year and was admitted in June 2018. Upon finally deciding to settle in Canada, she challenged all the exams required to be eligible for the lawyer licensing process of the Law Society of Ontario. She became a Barrister, Solicitor & Notary Public for the Province of Ontario in June 2022. Her primary practices are real estate, wills & estates and family law.

Wayne is a “homebody” who finds relaxation in doing chores while listening to her favourite band, BTS, or watching k-dramas. During the weekend, she loves to order in food & bubble tea while chilling at home with her husband.

Wilhelmina Mojet Lizardo

Senior Legal Assistant | Commissioner Of Oaths

Wilhelmina, or dearly known as “Mojet” to family, friends and clients, is the Senior Legal Assistant and Commissioner of Oaths at JCA Law Office. She started working at the firm a few months right after its inception in April 2016.

Mojet has a vast professional legal experience in both the corporate field and the government sector, dating back from when she was an intern at the Senate of the Philippines, Smart Communications Corporate Office and Public Attorney’s Office in Manila.

Her involvement as a lawyer-assistant in the Corporate Counsel of Directories Philippines Corporation enhanced her knowledge in practicing corporate law, civil law and intellectual property law. She further sharpened her legal writing skills when she worked as a legal editor and document reviewer for some of the top Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPOs) in Manila, such as EMCI and American Discovery.

She has the degrees of Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts Major in Legal Management both from the University of Santo Tomas and has been admitted to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 2009. When off from work, she spends her time with her son and husband playing basketball and soccer, and enjoys going to different parks and zoos on weekends.

Evangeline Aguilar

Marketing Manager
Admin – Client Relations

Evangeline, or more known as “Gin” to her family and close friends, is the content writer and client relations specialist at JCA LAW Office. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines with more than 15 years of work experience in the field of Finance, Banking and Project Management.

Prior to migrating to Toronto with her family in 2012, Gin was a Team Lead at Deutsche Bank (DB) Professional Shared Services in the Philippines for several years, giving her the opportunity to be internationally trained at DB offices in Singapore, London, and New York.

She worked for almost seven years as a Project Controller and Business Manager at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) before eventually deciding to pursue her passion – to write and blog, and assist Jake in the day-to-day activities in the office.

Gin is a graduate of St. Scholastica’s College in Manila and took up short courses in Digital Communications Strategy and Social Media at University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies. She is also a graduate of the Immigration Practitioner Diploma course at CSIC E-Academy. She enjoys traveling and discovering new places with Jake and their three kids, and makes sure she gets to witness all the kids’ important milestones in school.

Jovelyn Roman

Immigration Assistant

Jovelyn, or more known as “Jovie” to her family, friends, and colleagues, is JCA LAW’s Immigration and Police clearance specialist. While in the Philippines, she took BSC – Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management at Saint Louis University in Baguio City. 18 years later, she took a leap of faith and went back to school here in Canada, successfully completing the 2019 Immigration Consultant program with honors at Anderson College, paving the way for an internship role at JCA LAW.
Jovie is now part of the JCA LAW Immigration services team providing assistance to clients and fellow kababayans, especially those needing help with police clearances.

Jovie is warm and friendly with a passionate heart to help. Her hobbies include camping, mountain trekking, reading novels and spending time with her family whenever she’s not busy.
She can speak Tagalog, Igorot, Ilocano, and English.

Mohamed Emran

IT professional & Web Developer

Mohamed, known as “Moe”, is an IT Professional and web developer at JCA Law Office. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Studied in Canada, and holds a degree in Post-graduate in Wireless Networking at George Brown College (Toronto).

He worked in several industries in Canada such as Auto-Trader and a digital marketing agency as a WordPress Developer.

When not working, he enjoys biking around the city of Toronto and going to different events such as soccer games and central comedy shows.
